Questions over initial modelling

Modellers were “uncertain” of case numbers “due to data limitations”

I’m Paul Hutton keeping you up to date with news that scientists did not have accurate data when first modelling Covid. Meeting minutes released to the Telegraph following a freedom of information request show that in March 2020 the Scientific Pandemic Influenza Group on Modelling noted modellers were “uncertain” of case numbers “due to data limitations”. They also believed modelling only showed a “proof of concept” that a lockdown, which happened seven days later, could help, warning “further work would be required”. We’ll keep you up to date on this and other developments, here on Care Radio.
