I'm John Warburton with news that police in England, Scotland and Wales are being called to a rising number of mental health crises, and the government says that officers taking on the role of care workers is slowing down the fight against crime. A BBC freedom of information request showed rises everywhere, including 313% in Merseyside since 2017. The government says £150m of capital investment is set to improve NHS spaces for people experiencing, or at risk of, mental health crises, including up to 90 new mental health ambulances.
