NHS Digital says over 132,000 jobs hadn’t been filled by the end of June, up from about 106,000 three months earlier
I'm John Warburton with news that new official figures show the NHS in England is understaffed by almost 10%. NHS Digital says over 132,000 jobs hadn’t been filled by the end of June, up from about 106,000 three months earlier. Reacting to the new statistics, interim chief executive of NHS Providers, Saffron Cordery called the vacancy rate “staggering”, saying that many staff face “unsustainable workloads” and “burnout” in the face of growing demand. The Department of Health and Social Care said it was boosting NHS recruitment to, as it put it, “bust” the Covid backlogs. For more care related stories stay with us here at Care Radio.
