People told to stay away from emergency departments except for in "genuine, life-threatening situations".
I’m Nick Meir keeping you up to date with news that six hospitals have issued a joint warning for people to stay away from emergency departments except for in "genuine, life-threatening situations". The announcement was made after a surge in attendances left some patients waiting for up to 12 hours. Hospital trusts across West Yorkshire and Harrogate in North Yorkshire - an area covering more than 2.5 million people - said that due to current pressures they were forced to prioritise patients presenting with acute illness or injuries. We’ll keep you up to date on this and other developments, here on Care Radio.
