The RCN says that with staffing levels at crisis point, nurses need fair pay and recognition
I’m Matt Rosser with news that 75,000 NHS workers and nurses in Scotland are being balloted for industrial action with Unison and the Royal College of Nursing recommending their members reject a 5 per cent pay offer. The RCN says that with staffing levels at crisis point, nurses need fair pay and recognition. Unison said problems were building long before Covid and the pandemic had only exacerbated the issues.
The Scottish Government say’s it’s disappointed by the recommendation to reject its pay offer which it describes as the biggest single year pay rise NHS staff in Scotland have seen since devolution. For more care related stories stay with us here at Care Radio
