NHS leaders call for further investment to tackle gloomy waiting list prediction

I'm John Warburton with news that leaders of public healthcare providers are repeating their call for the government to show in detail how it’s going to improve NHS staffing. The NHS Federation’s Chief Exec says missing plans are one of the reasons why treatment waiting lists are getting longer and, the Institute of Fiscal Studies believes, probably won’t reduce for the foreseeable future. Matthew Taylor adds that the service continues to battle against “enormous strain” caused by what he calls the “gaping hole” in staff numbers.
