NHS healthcare trust “critical incidents” multiply in holiday week

I'm John Warburton with news that it’s being claimed NHS hospitals in England could, this week, be caring for a record number of patients. Official figures up to December 18th show an average of over 94,000 patients in hospital. NHS England chief executive Amanda Pritchard admits the service could be facing the “most challenging winter” in its history. On Wednesday this week, two trusts declared critical incidents because of the numbers of new patients needing care.
