I’m Matt Rosser keeping you up to date with news that NHS organisations have been asked to ensure their IT systems are ‘patched
and protected’ to defend them against cyber attacks, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. NHS leaders will be hoping the WannaCry cyber attack in 2017 which forced more than 80 trusts to shut down their IT systems acted as a wake-up call, but the sheer number of ageing systems and lack of funding to maintain defences means cyber security poses a major risk. We’ll keep you up to date on this and other developments, here on Care Radio.
