Thousands more unpaid carers in Scotland will be eligible for a new benefit, subject to the approval.
I'm Matt Jones with news that thousands more unpaid carers in Scotland will be eligible for a new benefit, subject to the approval of the Scottish Parliament this week. The Carer Support Payment is the replacement for the Carer's Allowance in Scotland. It will be available in Lanarkshire from June, and from August will extend to Fife, Aberdeenshire, Moray [pron Murray] and Ayshire. The new payment is available to those aged 16 to 19 and in full time higher level education.
