Research shows the unpaid carer crisis hits harder in the North of England
I'm Nick Meir with news that more than one in 50 Brits – 1.5 million – now provide upwards of 50 hours of unpaid care every single week in England, equating to more than 100 days per year, according to new research. Analysing ONS and Census data, Stannah has revealed where England’s unpaid care crisis is hitting hardest – with more than 3% of the population providing 50+ hours of unpaid care per week in the North of England, compared to just over 2% in London and the South East.
