More people paying for treatment because of long waiting lists

I’m Paul Hutton with news that more and more people are paying thousands of pounds for private medical treatment. There were 69,000 self-funded UK treatments in the last three months of last year - 39 per cent up on the same period before the pandemic. The BBC has evidence of people taking out loans or crowdfunding to pay for private treatment. These figures don’t include people with private insurance – only those paying the full cost themselves.
