Maternity services return to Moray

Services at Dr Gray's hospital in Elgin were downgraded in 2018 forcing most expectant mums in the region to travel to Aberdeen which is a journey of at least 1 hour by car

I'm James MacDonald with news that the Scottish government has allocated £6.6m to reinstate a consultant-led maternity service in Moray. Services at Dr Gray's hospital in Elgin were downgraded in 2018 forcing most expectant mums in the region to travel to Aberdeen which is a journey of at least 1 hour by car. The government has said a phased return will start this year with full consultant services returning in 2026.
