I'm John Warburton with news that a new bursary has begun to help a British university’s undergraduates who’ve grown up in care. An annual £5,000 will go to several University of Sussex students, thanks to the family of one of the university’s own graduates from 1971. Mathematician Andrew Rudd’s family foundation gift totals £600,000.The university’s vice-chancellor Professor Sasha Roseneil says students who’ve experienced the care system are, at the moment, “hugely under-represented in higher education”.
