Macmillan Cancer Support says it’s unacceptable for tens of thousands of patients to wait up to five months for personal independence payments to come through
I'm John Warburton with news that delays in government financial support for cancer patients in England and Wales are leading to poorer health, and the start of a charity campaign to speed up the payments. Macmillan Cancer Support says it’s unacceptable for tens of thousands of patients to wait up to five months for personal independence payments to come through. The charity claims its research shows almost half of patients waiting more than 11 weeks report declining physical or mental health. Questioned about the criticism, the government responded by saying processing times since last year have fallen by eight weeks. For more care news stay with us here at Care Radio.
