London carers go mobile to fight TB among homeless

A van equipped with remote diagnosis equipment including X-ray cameras is being used by experts

I'm John Warburton with news that NHS carers are driving the streets of London to tackle tuberculosis among vulnerable people without a permanent home. A van equipped with remote diagnosis equipment including X-ray cameras is being used by experts from University College London Hospitals. Staff say homeless people, particularly those living on the streets, are at high risk of developing TB. Latest NHS figures show around 4-thousand people in England are diagnosed with tuberculosis each year.
