I’m Matt Rosser keeping you up to date with news that new learning disability awareness training is being rolled out to all public-facing NHS staff across Wales in memory of patient Paul Ridd who died after receiving poor care while in hospital. Developed in conjunction with the Paul Ridd Foundation and the University of South Wales, the first phase will be delivered online and will cover the values, knowledge and skills required by health staff when supporting people with learning disabilities.The training begins this month for NHS Wales staff with further advanced phases planned and a hope to expand it to social care staff in the future.
