Research shows intensive care staff suffered PTSD after the winter COVID surge
I'm John Warburton with news that two groups of scientists believe nearly two-thirds of intensive care staff might have become mentally unwell during last year’s winter surge of Covid. That’s according to researchers from UCL and King’s College London, who added a similar proportion of workers said their mental health harmed their ability to do their jobs.Their survey also found around 45% of the correspondents met the criteria for PTSD, roughly the same proportion as in British soldiers who’d seen combat in Afghanistan.
