Foundation calls for higher pay and payment for travel time

The Resolution Foundation is highlighting the difference between the hourly rate of pay for domiciliary care workers and their actual pay when travel between jobs is factored in

I’m Matt Rosser with news that social care workers have high levels of job satisfaction, but many have unsafe working conditions and unlawful under-payment. The Resolution Foundation is highlighting the difference between the hourly rate of pay for domiciliary care workers and their actual pay when travel between jobs is factored in and that care home tasks needing at least two people are often being carried out by a single worker due to staff shortages. The Resolution Foundation is calling for a higher wage floor for care work and for travel time between jobs to be paid instead of just a mileage allowance. For more care news stay with us here at Care Radio.
