Fewer than 3 in 5 women are comfortable discussing mental health with professionals

More women rely on getting their health advice from family and friends, or Google

I'm John Warburton with news that the government released figures this week showing that more women rely on getting their health advice from family and friends, or Google, than from GPs and other health professionals. The statistics came out of a survey of nearly 100,000 people to help what Downing Street calls the first government-led Women’s Health Strategy for England. It also found that fewer than six-in-ten women felt comfortable opening up to care professionals about mental health conditions. The new strategy is due later this spring.
