I'm John Warburton with news that an extra £15m of government funding is going into supporting adult social care recruitment from overseas. Ministers say it’s part of a long term plan to improve staffing and job retention. The money is meant to help potential new recruits with issues like pastoral support, housing and travel. But Care England’s chief executive Martin Green adds that longer-term planning, rather than short-term funding, is imperative. Last year in the sector, vacancies in England alone increased by 52%.
