I’m Matt Rosser with news that an emergency care service is set to be rolled out in Essex amidst continuing pressure on residential and nursing homes, home care and supported living. Essex County Council is extending its Provider of Last Resort service which was put in place in January 2021 during the second wave of Covid-19. The service will now run until April 2023 at a cost of up to £2.8m and could be deployed to support care providers who are experiencing staff shortages.
