England Schools Covid Absences

 202,000 pupils were off school because of Covid on 17th March, two weeks earlier the figure was dramatically lower.

I’m Matt Rosser keeping you up to date with news that figures from England’s Department for Education show that on the 17th Marc,  202,000 pupils were off school because of Covid. Two weeks earlier the figure was dramatically lower at 58,000. Paul Whiteman, general secretary of the National Association of Head Teachers has called on the UK government to urgently remind people of their duty to take appropriate action to reduce the spread of Covid – just like any other illness. He described the plan to remove free access to lateral flow tests in England as ‘irresponsible’. We’ll keep you up to date on this and other developments, here on Care Radio.
