I’m Matt Rosser keeping you up to date with news that accidents involving E-scooters rose by 82 per cent from 2020 to 2021 according to figures from Ambulance Trusts across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Major Trauma Group (MTG) research shows that 713 e-scooter related accidents in 2021 cost an estimated £180,000.The scooters are technically illegal in the UK but are being trialled in rental schemes in a few cities. The Group has called on the government to take note of current holes in the regulation of e- scooters and take action to educate riders and impose equal safety standards for users.
