Among other measures, the group wants an increase to all benefits in line with inflation, a top-up payment to unpaid carers receiving Carers’ Allowance, and a rise to the Carers’ Allowance earnings limit to £200
I'm John Warburton with news that dozens of charity leaders have signed a call to the Chancellor to address financial support for unpaid carers in his Autumn Statement tomorrow. Led by Carers UK, 67 charities say the cost of living crisis is having a severe impact on an estimated 10.6 million unpaid carers of all ages. Among other measures, the group wants an increase to all benefits in line with inflation, a top-up payment to unpaid carers receiving Carers’ Allowance, and a rise to the Carers’ Allowance earnings limit to £200. Jeremy Hunt’s financial statement is due on Thursday afternoon. For more care news stay with us here at Care Radio.
