Disruption to heart care linked to 30,000 excess deaths, says British Heart Foundation

I'm John Warburton with news that a leading heart care charity claims disruption to care services has contributed to scores of heart patients needlessly dying.  In a new investigation, the British Heart Foundation says severe ambulance delays, inaccessible care and lengthening waiting lists are likely to be linked to up to 30,000 excess deaths in England since the pandemic began. The charity is urging the new Government to find a fresh strategy to tackle what it calls the heart care crisis. The Department of Health responded by claiming the NHS has so far virtually eliminated treatment backlogs of more than two years.
