Missing health checks can be “absolutely devastating”, and can lead to life-altering complications and early death
I'm James MacDonald with news that Diabetes UK have said missing health checks can be “absolutely devastating”, and can lead to life-altering complications and early death. The charities annual campaign hopes to inform the almost 5 million people with diabetes about the health risks it can cause. To help limit the impact of diabetes, patients are expected to undergo eight annual health checks. NHS Digital figures show just 29% of type 1 diabetes patients received all eight of their health checks last year although the figure rose to 36% of Type 2 patients. These figures are well down on pre pandemic levels. For more care related stories stay with us here at Care Radio.
