Devon project trains adults with learning disabilities for NHS work

The Big Issues reports that whilst fewer than 5% of adults with a learning disability are in paid employment

I’m Matt Rosser with news that a unique training program in Devon is putting people with learning disabilities in full-time paid work in the NHS, and filling some vital vacancies. The Big Issues reports that whilst fewer than 5% of adults with a learning disability are in paid employment, the Devon-based ‘Project Search’ offers participants, who are usually aged between 18 and 24, two weeks of intense training to prepare them for roles at North Devon District Hospital and the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. For more care news stay with us here at Care Radio.
