COVID has huge effect on NHS staff in Essex

I’m Alistair Clarke with news that the effect of Covid on making NHS staff unwell in Essex has been revealed. One ward at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow reported having just 43 per cent of the planned number of staff working due to staff shortages, issues with filling vacancies and staff getting ill. Hospital management say staffing on wards is reviewed three times a day and sometimes staff are moved onto wards where patients are more ill, if they have staff shortages. For more care news, stay with us here on Care Radio.
