In a survey of 3000 people, Carers UK tell us that a quarter were already relying on charities to get food
I'm Alistair Clarke with news that Carers UK are warning that 25% of people who are looking after someone else have so little money, they have to rely on foodbanks. In a survey of 3000 people, three-quarters were worried about the financial impact of gas and electric going up, two-thirds had already cut down on heating and a quarter were already relying on charities to get food. Carers UK are urging anyone who cares for someone else to check they’re getting all the allowances they are entitled to. And there'll be more on this and other stories here on Care Radio.
