These include Bolton Carers’ Support, the Tri-service and Veteran Support Centre in Newcastle-under -Lyme, and Hartlepool Carers
I'm John Warburton with news that many organisations for carers have been included in this year’s Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. Honours totalling 244 were handed out this week to groups including Bolton Carers’ Support, the Tri-service and Veteran Support Centre in Newcastle-under -Lyme, and Hartlepool Carers who have been giving support for 27 years. The award is sometimes called the “MBE for voluntary service”. Government ministers say volunteers provide a “vital social function” and help improve access to services everywhere. Nominations for next year’s awards close in September. Stay with us for more care related stories here at Care Radio.
