Care homes facing closure as energy bills mount

The owner of four care homes in the North East, said his sites are facing an increase of more than 500% in costs and called on the sector to be protected

I'm Nick Meir with news that a care home owner is warning that many will be forced to close as a rise in energy bills turn "catastrophic". Justin Russi, owner of four care homes in the North East, said his sites are facing an increase of more than 500% in costs and called on the sector to be protected. Mr Russi told the BBC "If we have to pay these exorbitant bills we will have no choice but to close, it's as simple as that". The government said it would support firms "in navigating the months ahead".
