I'm John Warburton with news that two care home residents in England are celebrating a very happy 70th wedding anniversary. Jean and Basil Hill were just children when they met. Jean’s dad took weekly deliveries of six beers that Basil brought to the house. They married in 1952, a short time after a stranger heard about the forthcoming ceremony while Basil was out walking, and gifted the couple five pounds — now worth 160 pounds. The couple, who now live at Orchard House on the Isle of Wight, say tolerance is the key to a long and successful marriage. For more care related stories stay with us here at Care Radio.
