AI can detect heart disease in 20 seconds is helping doctors at London’s Barts hospital see more patients
I’m Paul Hutton with news that an artificial intelligence tool that can detect heart disease in 20 seconds is helping doctors at London’s Barts hospital see more patients. The first-of-its-kind programme analyses MRI scans of the heart whilst the patient is in the scanner. It usually takes a human 13 minutes. The tech can also detect changes to the heart’s structure with 40 per cent greater accuracy and extracts more information than a person is able to.
