The charity has estimated that two million older households won’t have enough money to cover their essential spending over the next year if the cost of living continues to increase
I'm James MacDonald with news that life is fast becoming unaffordable for older households according to Age UK. People on the lowest incomes are spending almost a fifth (18 per cent) of their after-tax income on energy bills because of the price cap rise. The charity has estimated that two million older households won’t have enough money to cover their essential spending over the next year if the cost of living continues to increase.
They’ve called on the Government to get a grip on the crisis and are urging Ministers to support those who lack the income and resources to cope with rising inflation. For more care related news stay with us here at Care Radio.
