I'm Matt Rosser with news that a Glasgow nursing student is calling for increased financial support for student nurses in Scotland. With rising living and student accommodation costs, many student nurses are struggling financially. This financial strain is causing some to drop out of the program despite a national shortage of nurses. Student Rachel Orr says the current bursary of £10,000 is not enough to cover living expenses, especially for those with dependents. The Scottish Government acknowledges the challenges faced by student nurses and plans to review the support package.
