34 hospital building roofs in danger of collapse

The buildings affected were built between the 1960s and 1980s; the 30-year lifespan of the materials used is now nearing its end

I'm Matt Jones with news that ministers have admitted that thirty-four hospital buildings in England have roofs made of concrete that could fall down at any time. The buildings affected were built between the 1960s and 1980s; the 30-year lifespan of the materials used is now nearing its end. It's thought that the buildings of 16 NHS trusts are affected. Some hospitals are now having to use steel props to reduce the risk of collapse. For more care related stories, stay with us here at Care Radio.
