300-500 people dying each week because of A and E delays

Royal College of Emergency Medicine says that waiting times at A&E were so long that it was leading to unsafe and undignified care

I'm Matt Jones with news that the vice-president of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine says that an estimated 300 to 500 people are dying each week because of delays in emergency care. Ian Higginson said that waiting times at A&E were so long that it was leading to unsafe and undignified care. Official data isn't published until later this month but December is expected to be the worst month on record for waiting times at A&E departments. For more care news, stay with us here on Care Radio.
