2,300 cards from around the world mark care home resident’s 105th birthday

Joan, whose surname wasn’t given by the Blackwater Mill Residential Home, received around 2,300 cards reportedly from Australia, the United States, Canada, and many European countries

I'm John Warburton with news that a care-home resident on the Isle of Wight has had her 105th birthday marked by the arrival of thousands of cards from around the world. Joan, whose surname wasn’t given by the Blackwater Mill Residential Home, received around 2,300 cards reportedly from Australia, the United States, Canada, and many European countries. The care home had earlier mentioned the birthday to people living nearby, because Joan has outlived most of her family and friends. The response included seven bottles of Champagne. Joan reportedly spent some time on her 105th birthday with Larry her golden retriever. Care home staff have since thanked every well-wisher.
