I’m Matt Rosser with news that Child poverty is increasing in families of key workers according to new research conducted by the Trades Union Congress. The TUC says 1 in 5 key worker families have children growing up in poverty, increasing to 2 in 5 in the north east of England.
One third of those employed in Britain are classed as key workers under the government’s definition, which includes people working in health and social care. Frances O’Grady, general secretary of the TUC has called on the UK government to “get more money in the pockets of working families.” For more care related stories stay with us here at Care Radio.
