I'm Alistair Clarke with news that there’s a special focus this week on kinship carers – people who look after someone else’s child. They’re often referred to as the silent majority in children’s care and there’s calls for more support from social services to help kinship carers access support and finances. As part of kinship carers week, the children’s commissioner has written a moving article on how these loving, stable families often prevent future problems for children.
